Dear Member's and guests,
Providing a safe and healthy venue for you to enjoy and for the staff to work in has always been paramount to the Directors of The Builders Club. With this in mind the Board of Directors have voted to extend the entry requirement of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 until 31 January 2022. This decision was reached after consultation with members, staff, the Directors and our solicitors.
As I am sure many of you are aware, numerous other Clubs on the Northern Beaches have made a similar decision to extend the fully vaccinated entry requirement until the end of January, to do our part in maintaining a safe community.
COVID-19 is Not Eradicated
NSW Health Minister, Brad Hazzard
stated, “I think the licensed clubs’ decision is very sensible. My view as Health Minister is that we are still smack in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and businesses have to make sensible decisions to protect their staff and their patrons”.
COVID Safety
The NSW government has at this stage left this decision up to individual businesses and we have decided to make the ongoing health and safety of our staff, patrons and the wider community our highest priority. It is the Club’s responsibility and non-delegable duty to minimise risk in the workplace. Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2022(NSW) and in general law, it is the Club’s responsibility to make decisions that, to the best of our ability, maintain a safe working environment for our employees and for our patrons.
COVID Vaccination Policy

  • The Builders Club will extend the entry requirement of full vaccination for adults over the age of 16 years, unless they have documented medical reasons for not being vaccinated,
  • The Builders Club will conduct a policy review in the weeks preceding 31 January 2022,
  • All current employees of The Builders Club are fully vaccinated, and all future employees will be required to be fully vaccinated.

I know this decision will not sit well with some members, but this decision has been made to keep our members, staff and the wider community safe.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email if you wish to discuss this and do not take your frustrations out on the staff members.
Kind Regards,
Matthew Haack JP
